What Is Worse?

A guilty party going free or an innocent being convicted? I would say an innocent being convicted because it starts a cycle and creates a new criminal.

I agree that the innocent being convicted is worse. While a guilty party going free in general sucks, it's even worse for the person that never did anything wrong suddenly going to jail or whatnot for the true criminal.

Innocent people getting convicted is much worse IMO. I couldn't imagine being convicted of a crime I didn't commit, and to be locked up for it. I feel bad for innocent people.

I agree that it's worse for the innocent to be convicted. My reasoning is that it's harder for someone to convince the legal system that they're innocent after being found guilty than it is for a criminal to finally being prosecuted sometime in the future. A lot of criminals are repeat offenders so I think at some point they'll commit another crime and eventually pay in some way for their bad habit.

Do you think that the innocent convicted should receive monetary reparations?

I'd say so. I can't imagine trying to recover from all the lost income during the time of incarceration, especially if retirement is in the cards someday...
